HTML Tags – Table Row Tag

What is HTML <tr> tag ?

HTML <tr> tag defines a row of cells in a table.

HTML <tr> tag contains one or more <th> or <td> elements.

HTML <tr> tag is declared inside the <table> tag.

We can use CSS properties to customise the look of the table.

How HTML <tr> tag works ?

HTML <tr> tag defines a row in an HTML table.

Each <tr> tag can contain one or more <th> tags that define header cells in the table or one or more <td> tags that define standard cells in the table.

HTML <tr> element may be direct child of the <table> element or nested within a parent <thead>, <tbody>, or <tfoot> element.

Note : All the rows in a table contain an equal number of cells, which is equivalent to the number of cells in the longest row. If there are fewer cells in a row, then the browser will automatically fill the row, placing empty cells at the end of it.

Note : Some tables can also include the <col>, <colgroup>, <caption>, <tfoot>, <tbody>, and <thead> elements.

Why HTML <tr> tag is used ?

HTML <tr> tag is used for specifying a table row within a table.

HTML <table> is used for arrangement of data in rows and columns or possibly in a more complex structure.
