What is HTML <samp> tag ?

HTML <samp> tag is used to define sample output from a computer program.

The content inside is displayed in the browser’s default mono-space font.

We can also achieve a better display effect with the help of CSS properties.

How is HTML <samp> tag works ?

HTML <samp> tag encloses inline text which represents sample (or quoted) output from a computer program.

Whatever content written between the <samp> and </samp> tag is rendered as mono-space font in a browser.

Note : if we want the output element to serve as a container for the output created by the website or JavaScript code, we can use <output> tag instead of >samp> tag.

Why HTML <samp> tag is used ?

HTML <samp> tag represents sample output from a computer programs, scripts, etc.

When there is a need for displaying the sample computer code in the website <samp> code is used.This is usually used in programming technical websites.
