What is the HTML <span> tag ?

HTML <span> tag is used for grouping and applying styles to inline elements.

HTML <span> tag is helpful for applying styles on inline elements or content.

HTML <span> tag is similar to the HTML <div> element, but <div> is a block-level element and <span> is an inline element.

HTML <span> tag has an opening <span> tag and closing <span> tag.

How HTML <span> tag works ?

HTML span tag is used to grouping of inline-elements.

Note : HTML <span> tag is easily styled by CSS or manipulated with JavaScript using the class or id attribute.

Why is the HTML <span> tag used ?

HTML <span> tag is used to change the language of a part of the text.

HTML <span> tag is used to change the color, font, background of a part of text using CSS properties.

HTML <span> tag is used to apply the scripts to a particular part of the text.

What is the difference between <div> and <span> tag ?

The difference between the div tag and the span tag is that the div tag is used with block-level elements and the span tag is used with inline elements.

HTML <div> tag creates a line break and by default by creating a division between the text that comes after the tag begins and until the tag ends with </div>.


HTML <div> tag creates separate boxes or containers for all elements inside this tag like text, images, and paragraphs.
