HTML Tags – Small Tag

What is the HTML tag ?

HTML tag is used to make the text one size smaller inside the HTML document.

HTML tag in HTML is used to set a small font size.

HTML tag contains both opening and closing tag.

Note : HTML tag cannot make the text appear smaller than the browser’s minimum font size.

How HTML tag works ?

HTML tag decreases the text font size making it one size smaller than a document’s base font size (from medium to small, or from x-large to large).

Usually In HTML, the font size is measured by conventional units from 1 to 7.

By default, the average font size of the text is three units.

Note : The size of the font depends on its type. For example, Arial font is bigger than Times but smaller than Verdana.

Note : We can also achieve a richer (or the same) effect with the CSS property “font-size:smaller;” .

HTML tag can also be nested inside, which means we can use tag inside one another for multiple times, but it will continue to decrease the font size than its surrounding text.

Why is the HTML tag used ?

HTML tags are used for identifying secondary importance texts such as copyright, side comments, and legal notices in the Webpage.

Mostly HTML tag is used in the footer section, listing content and comments section.
